How to Make the Famous Indian Chicken Biryani?

Chicken biryani is the most popular Indian recipe around the world. It is rich in taste and flavor as it includes use of Basmati rice that adds aroma and flavor to the rich spicy ingredients. It is considered that cooking biryani is very difficult. However, once you are ready with the ingredients and the procedure, it is very easy and simple to prepare the spicy dish.

Ingredients Required

  • 1Kg of chicken
  • 3 cups of Basmati rice
  • 5 teaspoons of ghee
  • 1 big onion, sliced
  • 5 green chillies
  • 1 finely chopped tomato
  • 4 pods of garlic
  • 2 inch ginger
  • 10 cashew nuts
  • 1 cup of coconut milk
  • 1/2 cup chopped coriander leaves
  • 1/2 cup chopped pudina leaves
  • 2 cardamom
  • 5 cups of water
  • 1 anasi flower
  • 1 inch thick cinnamon
  • 3 cloves
  • A pinch of saffron

Though you may get worried by looking at this big list of ingredients, you will forget it once you taste the dish. Now know the process of its preparation. Clean and wash the chicken pieces. Prepare a paste with ginger, garlic, and green chillies. Heat the pressure cooker with ghee. Then cardamom, cloves, cashew nuts, cinnamon, and anasi flower are added and allowed to fry for few seconds. Then add the onions and saute for 2 minutes. Once they are fried, add chopped tomatoes. Now add chicken pieces and the garlic paste prepared at first.

After all the ingredients added are well cooked, add basmati rice and combine. Now its the turn to add coconut milk, coriander leaves, and pudina leaves. Combine the mixture well and close the lid of the pressure cooker. Once it is boiled, it is ready to serve with onion raita.
