San Luis Obispo is a city in California state which is located between Los Angeles and San Francisco on the Central Coast. It is one of the oldest communities of California and is founded by Fr. Junipero Serra in 1772. The city is also referred to locally as San Luis or SLO, is the county seat of San Luis Obispo County.

- The Diablo canyon atomic power station is located at 12mi/20km south of San Luis Obispo.
- Mission San Luis Obispo Tolosa: Once it was a flourishing cattle center and remains as a mission station and today it lies in the center of the city. After secularization, the mission was stated to be the property of Indians and after some years all buildings became decayed.
- The Montana de Oro State Park is best suited to nature lovers who enjoy mountain biking, horseback riding, and camping.
- San Luis Obispo Children’s Museum opened the public in 1990. It exhibits ranging from theater performance to fire-fighting. Subjects include health, safety, history, humanities, science, nature, the arts, and the community.
- The San Luis Obispo County Historical Museum exhibits artifacts of the Chumash Indians, articles from the ranches, and exhibits from the Victorian period, as well as a library specializing in the history of the county.
- Bishop peak where you encounter many cal poly students. There are some narrow places where the people should concentrate when dog trails are going on. The students should wear shoes because mostly it contains a rocky area and sometimes it can be a dangerous one.
